2 days 1 night - Company Workshop Part 4:
Crayon Pop, Secret, more managers than staff, Jayzee and ... This is a normal working day you must drink all night!
I have decided to blog about my first company workshop / trip in several posts - here is part 4
The evening meal was a buffet of raw fish, salad and various Korean dishes and was really good! Then the evenings entertainment began... each department had to choose some one to represent them and to give a performance. Our department submitted our idea; to perform crayon pop's baa ba ba ba.. but we were rejected, the reason became clear on the night as there was a stunning performance from another department, that I feel should have won. The standard of performances was really good. everything from K-pop to Queen to a performance on the ocarina . There is a ban on posting videos to you tube but I think I can get away with a couple of pictures.
After the performances, at around 11 pm, it was announced that people could clear any unopened bottles from the table and should go to their rooms We were told that we shouldn't sleep as this was a normal working day - Drink all night! As we got to the condo entrance a long queue had formed in the foyer, I asked to my team leader what is the queue for? she replied "That is where you collect your beer and snacks for your room - please come to ???'s room ???, we will drink together. I have experience of corporate events and always there is a way to end the event; such as closing the bar, shop etc and ending the night, here the just encouraged people to drink all night.
Not, wanting to be the first to leave - I managed to get to my bed sometime after 2:30am, although sleep came well after that. I think I wasn't drunk enough to pass out and too drunk to just go to sleep. add to it the fact that the drinking around the hotel continued well into dawn, the toasting and raising of glasses, probably paper cups could still be heard past sunrise.
The next morning there were not many people at breakfast... the days events then started. For me, Archery followed by coffee making; roasting beans, grinding beans and hand dripping coffee 40mins for a much needed coffee!
Needless to say the coach on the way home was much quieter than on the way there - I think everyone (except the drive was asleep within 10 mins), even the chilled leftover cans of beer I was given the next morning remained unopened, until I got home.
It was an eventful and interesting experience...
